Head of Grid

PACE is supporting a leading renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the appointment of a Head of Grid to join its growing team in Rome.

Our client is actively developing and delivering renewable energy projects across Europe and is continuing to expand its grid capability to support a strong pipeline of utility-scale developments. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced grid professional looking to play a key role in project delivery and long term business growth.

The Role

As Head of Grid, you'll lead the company's grid connection strategy across its renewable energy portfolio, working closely with technical, development and project delivery teams to ensure successful integration of new assets into the network.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading grid connection strategy across utility-scale renewable energy projects
• Managing relationships with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and key external stakeholders
• Overseeing grid application processes, technical assessments and connection agreements
• Providing technical guidance on grid compliance, network studies and connection requirements
• Supporting project development teams throughout the full project lifecycle
• Identifying risks and opportunities relating to grid access and network capacity
• Leading and developing the company's grid function as the project portfolio continues to grow

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with professionals who have:

• Significant experience in grid connection, transmission or power systems within the renewable energy sector
• A strong understanding of grid connection processes and network regulations
• Experience working with renewable energy developers, utilities, IPPs or engineering consultancies
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience engaging with TSOs, DSOs and regulatory bodies
• The ability to lead technical discussions while supporting commercial project delivery
• Previous leadership or team management experience is advantageous
