Our client is involved in Utility Solar projects from early development through construction to restoration. They are seeking an experienced Project Development Engineer, key responsibilities include leading early-stage development, managing EPC projects, providing technical procurement support, and supporting proposals and estimating. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, technical knowledge of solar systems, project management skills, and proficiency in energy modeling software.
Project Development & Engineering:
Ensure alignment with technical, regulatory, and budgetary requirements.
Perform site assessment and grading quantification using internal and external engineering resources.
Project Management:
Manage assigned active EPC projects during the engineering and procurement phase.
Lead risk management activities with developed mitigation strategies.
Ensures engineering standards and timelines are met.
Monitor and control project scope to prevent creep.
Serve as the point of contact for technical queries from the construction team. (Handoff to field engineering at construction).
Technical Procurement Support
Aid in resolving technical issues during procurement.
Support contract negotiations with technical insights.
Supporting Proposals and Estimating:
Collaborate with teams to tailor proposals to client needs and company strengths.
Evaluate vendor technical bids.
Advise the project team on vendor selection.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of direct experience in development or engineering of utility-scale solar (> 50MW) and/or BESS projects.
Familiarity with project management principles, able to demonstrate involvement in managing projects with cross-functional teams.
