Director, Financing - Clean Energy Investment Banking

We are partnering with a specialist clean energy investment banking platform as they continue to strengthen their senior financing capability in London.

The firm advises sponsors, developers, investors and infrastructure funds on debt and structured financing solutions for renewable energy and energy transition assets across the UK, Europe and selected global markets. Their work spans utility scale renewables, energy storage and emerging low carbon infrastructure.

The Role

This is a senior Director level position, combining transaction leadership, client engagement and financing structuring. You will play a key role in originating and executing financing mandates, leading deal teams and supporting clients through complex financing processes.

The role offers significant exposure to high profile clean energy transactions and the opportunity to shape financing strategies for next generation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring and execution of debt and structured financing solutions for clean energy and infrastructure assets
• Manage transactions end-to-end, from mandate through to financial close
• Oversee financial modelling, lender engagement, term sheet negotiation, due diligence and credit approvals
• Advise clients on capital structure optimisation, market dynamics and bankability considerations
• Work closely with commercial banks, DFIs, institutional lenders and credit funds
• Support origination and business development through client engagement and pitch materials
• Collaborate with technical, legal and ESG specialists to align financing structures with project fundamentals
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of best-practice processes

About You

• 7-10+ years’ experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, leveraged finance or structured finance
• Strong track record executing debt or structured financing transactions
• Experience within investment banking, advisory, infrastructure finance or lending environments
• Solid understanding of financing structures, documentation and bankability drivers
• Comfortable operating in a client-facing, transaction-led role
• Advanced financial modelling literacy
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline; MBA/CFA advantageous
• Genuine interest in the clean energy transition and sustainable infrastructure
