We’re looking for a Projects HSE Manager to join a growing Health, Safety & Environment team, supporting the successful delivery of wind energy construction and installation projects across the UK. This is a hands-on role working closely with internal teams, site managers, contractors, and customers to ensure safety remains a top priority throughout each phase of project delivery — from tender to handover.
The position is based in Edinburgh with flexible hybrid working, and regular travel to project sites across Scotland, England, and Wales.
Working as a key HSE interface across project teams, your role is to promote and uphold a culture of Zero Harm through strong risk management, governance, and compliance. You’ll bring clarity and structure to the way HSE is managed and continuously improved throughout project lifecycles.
Collaborate with project managers to integrate HSE planning into all stages of installation projects.
Support tender processes and customer interactions relating to HSE matters.
Monitor compliance with CDM Regulations, working with Principal Contractors to ensure alignment.
Oversee the implementation of an HSE Assurance Plan including internal audits, inspections, and contractor assessments.
Develop and review project-specific HSE documentation.
Identify, assess, and manage risks including emergency planning and environmental considerations.
Ensure suitable review and verification of contractor RAMS (risk assessments and method statements).
Act as the lead contact for third-party HSE Officer (HSO) service providers:
Provide relevant documentation and training.
Oversee profile approvals and alignment with safety standards.
Address issues and provide ongoing support.
Lead or support incident investigations and collaborate with relevant departments to drive corrective and preventive actions.
Share lessons learned, best practices, and incident communications.
Provide input on HSE matters during tendering and contract review stages.
Identify training needs and support the development of HSE training standards.
Significant experience in HSE roles within the onshore wind or construction sector, working across multiple projects.
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
Strong understanding and application of CDM Regulations.
Skilled in leading incident investigations (TOPSET certification desirable).
Internal/external audit experience (audit qualification beneficial).
Willing and medically fit to travel to onshore wind sites and perform regular turbine climbs (GWO & RUK Medical required).
Occasional travel to Europe required.
Excellent time management, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A professional and methodical approach to both internal and external stakeholder interactions.
If you’re an experienced HSE professional with a passion for renewables and a drive to make safety a non-negotiable part of every project, we’d love to hear from you. This is your chance to be part of the clean energy transformation — and make it safer for everyone involved.
