Piping Engineer

Opportunity:

  • Under direct supervision, this role includes standard engineering work requiring application of standard established techniques and procedures to carry out tasks in support of Nuclear Facilities.
  • Assignments involve responsibility for planning/conducting complete tasks or portions of a larger project under direction of more experienced staff.
  • Provides technical support related to planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, and maintaining structures, systems, and components.
  • Provides engineering advice, as needed.
  • Performs standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems according to relevant standards.
  • Demonstrates duties and tasks related to the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design processes
  • Supports the design and maintenance for Bruce Power's buried piping program
  • Receives assistance and instructions on unusual or more complex features and possible solutions, as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.
  • May independently evaluate, select, and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
  • Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies
  • Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd

  • CSA B51-09 up 8
  • CSA N299.1
  • CSA N289.3
  • ASME B31.1-2007
  • ASME BPVC Section VIII-2007
  • Engineering standards, FMEA, Stress Analysis  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; technical report writing capabilities
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Team integration and customer oriented
  • Knowledge of the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design processes
