Electrical Supervisor

We're looking for an Electrical Supervisor to support the Barakah Nuclear Power Station in UAE. 

Provide guidance and the highest level of supervisory skills and knowledge to maintenance scopes  of work activities and complex troubleshooting, engineering evaluations, operability determinations,  Operational Decision-Making Issues and temporary modifications through the planning, execution, and  post close-out phases i.e., Electrical inspection and overhaul for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant  (BNPP) as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for  nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance  objectives are achieved..

Key Responsibilities: 

• Guide the execution of a defined scope of work activities to increase reliability and performance, reduce operating and maintenance costs, and maintain compliance with plant design basis and regulatory requirements. 
• Provide high technical expertise and provide guidance during the identification, investigation, and resolution of off normal equipment conditions to ensure safe plant operations and preserve equipment design margins. 
• Provide highly experienced technical support and guidance during complex troubleshooting activities to facilitate successful completion
• Control and guide support in developing major equipment maintenance windows to assist Shutdown  Management. 
• Provide appropriate prioritization to work to ensure  optimization of maintenance resources in component work and report results to the component engineering management. 
• Deliver toolbox talks and pre-job briefs, safety connects and specific safety related messages. 
• To plan, organize and execute the work within the defined scope to achieve the required level of performance and productivity 
• Ensure the quality standards are achieved by implementing quality procedures advising section/quality engineers of problems with  procedures and standards of workmanship and cooperation in the resolution. 
• To handle effectively all first line disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues. 
• Demonstrate both leadership qualities and sound knowledge and understanding of mechanical fitting activities and processes. 
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of company policies and  procedures.

Health and Safety and Security 

• Follow all relevant company’s Health and Safety policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure compliance in all aspects of work as per sound  management practices. Apply these policies and  procedures to self and others to ensure reasonable care  of the health and safety of the employee; the environment; and various individuals who may be affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at work. 
• Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets. 
• Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission critical activities.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent 

Minimum Experience: 

2 years’ minimum work experience in Nuclear Power Plant Outage Environment & a minimum 1 years supervisory experience. Mainly in general maintenance of  equipment etc. 

Job-Specific Skills: 

• Able to understand international standards in order to be able to undertake different maintenance programs jobs. 
• Broad experience in nuclear/ power plant activities 
• Knowledge in valve operations & heavy lift 
• Familiar with SAP/Primavera 
• Ability to take complex technical decisions and lead teams. 
• Strong interpersonal & Communication skills 
• Capable to work pressure like breakdown maintenance & shutdown. 
• Coordination with inter departments and good relationship with all. 
• Man- management skills 
• Thorough knowledge of Nuclear/ Power plant safety procedures & related practices 
• Should undergo approved Permit holder test 
• Should undergo and certification for basic safety courses such as confined entry & high radiation exposure
