Document Controller – Nuclear Industry

We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Document Controller, to be involved in the safety and regulatory compliance for game-changing technology within the nuclear industry.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Programme Manager and working alongside an established team of document controllers, this role plays a critical part in establishing and maintaining documentation and Lifetime Quality Records across the organisation. The role supports the strategy, development, and management of both internal and external documentation while contributing to the effective deployment of team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage an effective Documentation Management System for internal and external use.
  • Develop and deploy a Lifetime Quality Records strategy.
  • Implement robust document control measures to ensure documentation reliability and accessibility.
  • Ensure adherence to document management processes and procedures.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on system registers.
  • Produce documentation status reports.
  • Identify and drive system improvements.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in document control, procedure, and process management.
  • Ability to manage documentation internally and externally, ensuring accessibility and reliability.
  • Experience in the day-to-day administration of a document management system.
  • Strong adherence to internal and external documentation policies and procedures.
  • Ability to quality-check documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Experience in document creation and review, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to contribute to documentation system improvements.
  • Experience working alongside Lifetime Quality Records teams is advantageous.

Training and Qualification Requirements

  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with web-based applications and document control systems.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £28,800 - £38,000
  • Bonus: Performance-related bonus of up to 7%
  • Benefits Allowance: £2,200 to create a bespoke package
  • Pension: 12% employer and 6% employee contributions
  • Holidays: 28 days (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
  • Private Medical Insurance: BUPA single cover
