Development Manager

As a Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development of solar and storage energy projects. Leveraging your expertise, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Project Development- Land Origination: Assist the Land Origination team with the evaluation and acquisition of suitable project sites for solar energy installations.
  • Permitting: Interpret and analyze local land zoning ordinances, regulations, and permitting requirements to ensure compliance and successful project development; Support preparation of land use and zoning applications, eg CUPs. Lead the preparation and submission of all necessary permit applications, documents, and reports, ensuring timely approvals and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Site Analysis: Facilitate thorough site assessments, including environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies, and energy production analyses, to determine project viability. Identify suitable consultants with the requisite experience to conduct the studies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop stakeholder maps and build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, government agencies, utility companies, and local communities to facilitate project approvals and smooth execution; Attend public hearings, site visits, and other meetings, as needed
  • Design and Engineering: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to create project layouts, system designs, and engineering plans that align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Project Management: Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery within established timelines and budgets.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize obstacles and challenges during the development phase.
  • Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, market developments, and technological advancements in solar energy to inform decision-making and strategy.
  • Vendor Appointment: Identify and manage activities to appoint potential suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to secure resources and services needed for project related studies.
  • Reporting: Generate regular progress reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as point of contact between company executives and external parties, including landowners, government officials, and community stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years in industry relevant to renewable energy
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering; Environmental Science; or Project Development related degree (not required)
  • Experience working with local governments, design/engineering aspects of solar development and real estate development.
  • Proficiency in Google Earth and ArcGIS
  • Preferably live in PA, NJ, NY, VA, OH, IN, WV or KY.
