Commissioning Engineer

We are currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Renewables team based in Porto Torres (Sardinia).


Your role will encompass:

  • Support the development of commissioning workplans in coordination with the Commissioning Manager and Project Manager, ensuring clear definition of scope, resources, and schedules for commissioning activities.
  • Prepare and manage documentation needed for commissioning activities, such as Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, and Test Reports, liaising closely with electrical compliance engineers and quality managers.
  • Assist in reviewing technical requirements outlined in EPC contracts and highlight commissioning-related considerations.
  • Execute commissioning activities on site, including inspections, tests, energisation support, and functional verification of systems, ensuring works are conducted safely and according to plan.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and project teams to review design drawings and identify potential installation or commissioning challenges.
  • Monitor and report potential risks encountered during commissioning phases, proposing mitigation actions where necessary.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps or inefficiencies in commissioning and FAT processes and suggesting solutions.


What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Diploma; MSc is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of commissioning experience, preferably in Solar Power Plant or Battery Storage construction projects.
  • Good knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC, CEI, IEEE) and familiarity with the Italian Grid Code requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic skills in AUTOCAD (reading and interpreting drawings).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in both English and Italian (written and spoken).
